About NGO Jobs Africa

NGO Jobs Africa is an opportunity platform for Africa's development, humanitarian and social impact sector. We gather jobs, consultancies, fellowships, internships, volunteer roles, scholarships, training, grants and tenders from official sources and from employers who post with us, check each one against the original notice, and present the essentials first so you can decide quickly.

Why we exist

Opportunities in our sector are scattered across UN portals, donor procurement sites, thousands of NGO career pages, mailing lists and social media. Deadlines are short, the same vacancy often appears in several places with different details, and fraudulent offers hide among genuine ones. Qualified people miss roles because they find them too late, and organisations spend weeks reaching the right candidates.

NGO Jobs Africa was built in Nairobi to change that. Our aim is simple: anyone working in the sector should be able to see what is open today, trust what they read and reach the official application route in a few clicks.

How we work

Sources checked throughout the dayWe monitor ReliefWeb, UN Careers, UNDP, UNICEF, WFP, UNHCR and the career sites of organisations such as World Vision, the International Rescue Committee, FHI 360, One Acre Fund, GiveDirectly, Educate! and Acumen, alongside listings posted directly by employers.
One listing per opportunityWhen a vacancy appears in several places, we merge the copies into one listing with one official application route, and standardise organisation names so you know exactly who is hiring.
Linked to the official sourceEvery listing points to the organisation's own notice and shows when we last checked it. You always apply directly to the organisation.
Clear about deadlinesWhen a closing date passes, the listing is marked closed and moved to the closed opportunities archive. Nothing expired is shown as open.
For every career stageInternships and graduate programmes, senior and director roles, independent consultancies, research grants and institutional tenders, filtered by country, sector, level and type.
Safety built inEvery listing has a report button, we review reported notices, and our Scam Safety guide explains how to check any offer.

Free for everyone, more for members

Search, filters, saved opportunities, job alerts, the weekly email and our WhatsApp channel are free. Fixed-term contracts, part-time jobs, temporary roles and every opportunity an organisation pays to promote are open to everyone in full. Full-time jobs, consultancies, fellowships, internships, volunteer roles, scholarships, training, grants and tenders are members-only: everyone can see that they exist and how many are open, and the Opportunities Pass unlocks the organisation, the full details and the official application link.

Passes are available for 3 days (USD 1, first pass only), 30 days (USD 3.75), 90 days (USD 9) and 12 months (USD 33.75). Pay by M-Pesa or by Visa or Mastercard. Both are charged in Kenya shillings at the day's rate, and the exact amount is shown on the pay button before you confirm. New days are always added to the end of any time you already have. Members can also keep a balance on their account, which is used automatically for their next pass.

Membership buys access to information, never a job. The organisation offering an opportunity always makes the selection, and genuine employers never charge a fee to apply, interview or be hired.

Our commitments

  • We always show the official source and the date we checked it.
  • We never present an expired opportunity as open.
  • We never charge your M-Pesa or card without your confirmation.
  • We never sell your personal data, and we follow the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019.
  • We keep paid placements clearly labelled and separate from how we check listings.
  • We act on every report of a suspicious listing.
