Accessibility Statement

Last updated: 6 October 2026

NGO Jobs Africa wants everyone to be able to find and apply for opportunities, including people who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, voice control, low-bandwidth connections or older phones.

Our standard

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, level AA, the standard recommended by the United Nations for its websites. Accessibility is part of how we design, write and test pages, not an afterthought.

What we already do

  • Every opportunity shows its country, city and remote status in text. The map is never the only way to find a location.
  • Forms have visible labels and clear error messages.
  • Colour is never the only way we show information; deadlines and statuses are written out.
  • High-contrast text on key buttons and badges.
  • Pages work on small screens and slow connections, and text can be resized to 200%.
  • Plain-language guides and consistent navigation on every page.

Known limitations

Some parts of the site come from third-party components (the job map, some filter controls and embedded documents from organisations) and may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. PDF vacancy notices published by organisations may not be accessible; if you cannot read one, tell us and we will help you get the information.

How we test

We combine automated checks with manual tests: keyboard-only navigation, screen-reader checks, 400% zoom, colour-contrast checks, mobile and slow-network tests.

Tell us about a barrier

If something is hard to use, please contact us with the page link and what happened. We aim to respond within 5 working days and to fix barriers as a priority.
