About NGO Jobs Africa

What is NGO Jobs Africa?

An opportunity platform for development, humanitarian, nonprofit and social impact work across Africa: jobs, consultancies, fellowships, internships, volunteer roles, scholarships, training, grants and tenders. We gather them from official sources and from employers who post with us, check them against the original notice and present them in one clear format. 1,043 opportunities are open today.

Is NGO Jobs Africa the employer?

No. Unless a listing clearly says otherwise, the opportunity is offered by the organisation named on it. We link you to the official source, and the organisation runs its own selection.

Where do the opportunities come from?

From ReliefWeb, UN Careers, UNDP, UNICEF, WFP, UNHCR, the career sites of organisations such as World Vision, the International Rescue Committee, FHI 360, One Acre Fund, GiveDirectly, Educate! and Acumen, and from organisations that post directly with us. We check our sources throughout the day.

Why do I see an opportunity once when other sites show it several times?

We merge copies of the same vacancy into one listing and standardise organisation names, so each opportunity appears once with one official application route.

Free access and members-only opportunities

What is free?

Search, filters, saved opportunities, job alerts, the weekly email and our WhatsApp channel. Fixed-term contracts, part-time jobs, temporary roles and every opportunity an organisation pays to promote are open to everyone in full.

What does members-only mean?

Full-time jobs, consultancies, fellowships, internships, volunteer roles, scholarships, training, grants and tenders are members-only. They appear in search results with the organisation and part of the title blurred and a lock badge. The Opportunities Pass unlocks the organisation, the full description and the official application link.

Why are some results blurred?

They are members-only opportunities that match your search. We show them so you know exactly what a pass would unlock before you buy one.

The Opportunities Pass

What passes are available?

Passes are available for 3 days (USD 1, first pass only), 30 days (USD 3.75), 90 days (USD 9) and 12 months (USD 33.75). Prices are in US dollars. Pay by M-Pesa or by Visa or Mastercard. Both are charged in Kenya shillings at the day's rate, and the exact amount is shown on the pay button before you confirm. When an offer is running, the reduced price is shown across the site.

Who can buy the 3-day pass?

The 3-day pass at USD 1 is a one-time offer for new members, limited to one per person, phone number and email address. It cannot be combined with coupons. If you have held a pass before, choose 30 days, 90 days or 12 months.

What if I pay for the 3-day pass a second time?

Your payment is accepted and kept safely as credit in your account balance, but no new 3-day pass is started. The balance is taken off your next 30-day, 90-day or 12-month pass at checkout, so you only pay the difference. You can see it in Payments & credit.

How do I pay?

Choose a pass, create your account or log in, and pick a payment method. M-Pesa is the default: a prompt appears on your phone and you enter your PIN. If it does not arrive, use Send a new M-Pesa prompt on the order page, or pay with the Paybill details shown there and enter your M-Pesa receipt code. Visa or Mastercard payments are completed on a secure card page, and your bank may ask you to approve the payment.

When does my access start?

As soon as payment is confirmed, usually within seconds. Your pass and its end date appear in My Account.

What happens if I buy another pass before mine ends?

The new days are added to the end of your current pass, so you never lose time.

Where can I see my payments and receipts?

In Payments & credit. It lists every payment with what it was for, how you paid, your M-Pesa receipt or card reference and the result, together with your balance and its history.

Do job alerts include members-only opportunities?

Yes, while your pass is active. When it ends, your alerts continue with open listings only.

Does the pass guarantee a job, consultancy or grant?

No. It gives you access to opportunity information and official application routes. The organisation offering the opportunity always makes the selection.

Something went wrong with my payment. What should I do?

If you were charged twice, or paid and your pass did not start, email admin@jobs.ngoportal.africa with your M-Pesa receipt code or card reference and we will put it right.

Can I share my account?

No. A pass is for one person. Sharing login details or copying members-only content for others is not allowed and can lead to the account being closed.

Account balance and automatic renewal

What is my account balance?

Money you have already paid that is waiting to be used on a pass. It comes from prefunding your account or from a repeat 3-day pass payment. It is held in US dollars, the same currency as our prices.

How do I prefund my account?

Go to Prefund my account, choose an amount from USD 1 to USD 500 and pay by M-Pesa or card. The amount is added to your balance once payment is confirmed, and we email you a confirmation.

How is my balance used?

Automatically. When you buy a 30-day, 90-day or 12-month pass, your balance is taken off at checkout. If it covers the full price there is nothing to pay; otherwise you pay only the difference. It cannot be used for the 3-day pass.

Will I be charged again automatically?

Your M-Pesa and card are never charged automatically. Automatic renewal is off unless you turn it on in Prefund my account. When it is on and your pass ends, it renews from your balance only if the balance covers the plan you chose. If your balance is short, we email you 3 days before your pass ends and again on the day. The 3-day pass never renews.

Can I turn automatic renewal off?

Yes, at any time, in Prefund my account. Your balance stays on your account and is used only when you buy a pass yourself.

Can I withdraw or transfer my balance?

No. Your balance stays on your account until you use it on an Opportunities Pass. It cannot be withdrawn as cash from the website or transferred to another person. For any question about your balance, email admin@jobs.ngoportal.africa.

Refer and earn

How does the referral programme work?

Once you have bought any pass, a personal link appears on Refer and Earn. When a friend buys a pass through it, free days are added to your pass: 2 days for a 3-day pass, 7 days for a 30-day pass, 14 days for a 90-day pass and 30 days for a 12-month pass. There is no limit on how many friends you invite.

What if my friend starts with the 3-day pass and upgrades later?

If your friend buys a longer pass within 60 days, we top up your reward to the level of the longer pass.

What does not count?

Purchases made with your own phone number or email, a phone number or email that has already had the 3-day pass, people who bought a pass before using your link, and cancelled orders.

Do free days have a cash value?

No. Free days extend your pass. They cannot be exchanged for money or transferred to another account.

Finding and applying

What does "Verified source" mean?

We have linked the listing to the organisation's own notice and checked the organisation, deadline and application route on the date shown. The original notice is always the final authority.

Why does a listing say "Closed"?

Its deadline has passed. Closed listings stay in the closed opportunities archive, so you can see which organisations recruit for similar roles and set an alert for the next one.

How do job alerts work?

Create an account, run a search and choose Add Alert, or go to Job Alerts. We email you new matching opportunities. Pause or delete alerts at any time.

How do I follow the WhatsApp channel?

Use the Follow on WhatsApp button on the homepage or any opportunity page. Your number stays private, and you can mute or leave the channel at any time.

For organisations

How do we post an opportunity?

Go to Post an Opportunity, create an organisation account and add your listing with an official application link or email and a clear deadline. Basic listings are free, and we usually publish within one working day.

What do paid options add?

Featured placement puts your listing above standard results and on the homepage, and promoted listings are open to every visitor. See For Organisations for current prices.

Can you post our vacancies for us?

Yes. Send the link to the official notice to admin@jobs.ngoportal.africa and we will publish it.

Can we advertise or partner with you?

Yes. See Advertise With Us for homepage adverts and sponsorship, or contact us about recruitment campaigns and partnerships.

Trust, safety and your data

How do I spot a scam?

Genuine employers never charge fees to apply, interview or be hired. Be cautious of requests for money, bank details or identity documents early in a process, and of email addresses that do not match the organisation. Read our Scam Safety guide.

How do I report a listing?

Use Report this listing on the opportunity page or our report form. We review every report.

How do you use my phone number?

To process M-Pesa and card payments, to keep the 3-day pass to one per person and to check that referral rewards are fair. We never sell it or use it for marketing without your consent.

How do you handle my data?

We follow the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect and why. Offer emails are sent only if you opt in, and never more than once every 14 days.

How do I delete my account?

Email admin@jobs.ngoportal.africa from the address on your account. We delete or anonymise your data within 30 days, keeping only the records the law requires.
